In January, I was beginning to notice what initially drew me to fashion — the storytelling, people, and clothing of course — no longer served me. After countless nights spent reflecting on my journey, one through line emerged: exploring fashion at all angles has always led me to new possibilities.
Every year, I set new goals to fall deeper in love with fashion. Some of my past goals have been learning from creatives over coffee, annotation fashion articles as research material, and even working a weekend job in Silverlake. Once I thought it through, it became clear that I had tried most things except embracing design.
With A Beginner’s Mind is not only a design project but also an ethos. The constant informs my everyday to seek humility over perfection, find abundance in the present, and embrace a learning mindset. My first project features raw denim, which is what originally sparked my interest in fashion.
