With A Beginner's Mind is both a clothing brand and passion project.

The brand stands as a testament to embracing a beginner’s mind and chasing your dreams. As a self-taught designer, I often let intuition lead where experience has yet to follow. The path I've taken is unconventional, but one thing remains true: you’ll never know unless you try.

The goal is to seek gratitude — embracing the journey as much as the outcome. I value being hands-on and learning from all angles. That’s why my garments are produced locally in Los Angeles. It allows me to be closely involved and offer something personal. While my designs may look simple at first, I believe in sharing my process with vulnerability and honesty which, in turn, I hope offers you a different perspective on fashion.

Without meaning, clothes are just clothes. I want to tell stories that inspire dreams and add meaning to your life.

My Story

Growing up, pursuing a career in fashion felt more like a day dream than a tangible goal. While I didn't know where to start, I never let that stop me from trying.

Early in my career, rejection and self-doubt flooded my mind. I graduated from college with a degree in Accounting, yet I couldn't shake the dream that maybe — just maybe — a kid from Orange County with zero connections could make it in fashion. After all, most of my teenage years were spent surfing the internet, obsessing over raw denim and streetwear.

Despite countless rejections, I eventually found momentum. From 2011 through 2015, my goal was simple: break into the fashion industry. I went from one unpaid internship to the next, all in the hopes of working for one of my favorite designers — John Elliott.

In 2015, opportunity met preparation and I got my chance. After being laid off from my first full-time job, I reached out to John Elliott to ask about an internship. With blind faith, confidence, and a vision — qualities at the heart of a beginner’s mind — I received an offer. I immediately moved to Los Angeles and after an unforgettable five-year ride at my dream job, I left in 2020 to start With A Beginner’s Mind.

This brand is my medium to share my story through clothing. My hope is that when you see my work and read my thoughts, you're inspired to seek gratitude, practice mindfulness, and embrace a learning mindset.
